Today morning, President Dierter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Elder D. Todd Christofferson, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, met Ramón Javier Mestre, Intendente of Córdoba, as reported by the South America South Area on its Facebook page.
This meeting is held within the framework of the Córdoba Argentina Temple’s dedication that is going to take place tomorrow. The cultural celebration for the temple’s dedication is going to be broadcasted today at 6:00 pm local time (3:00 pm MDT).
Intendente Mestre has been in office since December, 2011. Previously, he served as Nation Senator. He is a lawyer by profession, married and father of 3 children.
President Uchtdorf is visiting western Argentina to dedicate the Córdoba Argentina Temple, which has been announced in the October, 2009 General Conference of the Church and will be the second operative temple in the country.
